VESTAL VILLAGE AT THE BEACH COMBINES SAND, SURF AND SOUNDS OF OC

Writer's picture: Jackie ConnorJackie Connor

Vestal, a local company known for their stylish watches and beachy eyewear, will celebrate their 10-year anniversary and all things sand and surf at Bolsa Chica State Beach with the Vestal Village @ the Beach event in a non-stop party fashion through Sunday.

Originating from Vestal Owner Johnny Gehris’ Coachella V.I.P. house parties during the infamous festival, and then transforming into an invite-only party in the desert, this is the company’s first coastal-based bash that is open to the public.

In very appropriate beach consciousness, the event started Thursday and will host more than 40 bands/groups featured on several different stages, in addition to encouraging peeps to partake in plenty of sand, surf and pool action. There will even be fishing, folks!

And where would Southern California beach culture be without, yes, GLAMPING?! Avoid marinating your toesies in the sand and chill out in the venue’s posh huts for the afternoon. Purchase one of the huts for a separate fee and not only do you have the opportunity to rub elbows with the featured musicians, but you also get a queen sized bed equipped with a memory foam mattress, plush rugs, Vestal goodie bags, and modular couches.

Does a crushed red velvet robe and cigar come with that?

Abhor the very thought of glamorized camping? Don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to get dirt in your toenails or sand in places the sun don’t shine at Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Each dat features bands that will rock your sandal-socks and bikini tops, from the Black Lips, Robert John and the Wreck to the groovy trippy drippy stylings of Poolside. Saturday night features the deliriously dirty Mickey Avalon—I will not be missing that show.

So, wearing those Gucci sandals is your choice, and perhaps a great one for Poolside with a fruity drink in-hand, but! Let’s be clear: I will be on the look-out for their condition (and yours) come Sunday afternoon.
