The city's adopted battalion wants to showcase their standard exercises to the public.
The commanding officer for San Clemente's adopted Camp Pendleton Marine battalion updated the city council Tuesday on the unit's activities of late.
Lt. Col. Rob Weiler of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines said his people were training out in the field. They are reconstituting new recruits with activities and exercises in Twentynine Palms.
"Their morale is high in the cold mountains," said Weiler at Tuesday night's council meeting.
Several reporters and camera crews from various cities documented these activities in Twentynine Palms, according to Weiler.
"We're going to invite local reporters out so the community can see what we do," said Weiler.
"We enjoy the great support from the greatest city."
Although unclear the exact nature of the activities, the battalion is utilizing a training exercise referred to as "Exercise Still Night."
